Congratulations on moving to the next step of the Product Design application process at Remote - we can’t wait to get to know you and the way you work a little better ✨
For this stage of the process, we would like to invite you to share a case study of a previous project of work that you played pivotal role in bringing to life in your product design career.
📋 Requirements
- Format: Async video presentation (we are an async company after all 😉***)***
- Duration: 15-20 minutes max (presentations exceeding this may require revision)
📣 Case study guidance
- Present 1 x case study of work that you’re really proud to showcase
- Focus on large, complex problem solving and demonstrate end-to-end design process
- Design quality is paramount, so we expect to see work executed consideration and craft
- Help us understand your role in the project, why and how you tackled the problem, what pivots you made, how you collaborated and what the outcomes were
- This can be a deck, prototype or a walkthrough your design files - whatever format helps you showcase your thinking and quality best
- Record a video walkthrough of yourself presenting your case study and share this with us
- Please limit the time spent to 3-4 hours max - our goal is not to create extra work for you, but see and hear how you think and create, so use existing presentations or artefacts
✅ What we’re looking for
These are the main themes we use to assess your case study. We understand that no project or process is perfect, so tell us everything - warts and all:
- End-to-end process - how did you work through this project from the initial kick-off and strategic thinking to the final delivery and measurement?
- Strategic & business thinking - how did you formulate what should be done?
- User-centred design - how did you understand your users and their pain points?
- Creative thinking - what big ideas did you have? What creative leaps did you make?
- Innovation - what innovative breakthroughs did you explore? How have you leveraged AI?
- Design craft - how does the product look, feel and delight its users?
- Problem solving - what were the challenges? What went wrong that you had to fix?
- Impact - was this work successful? How do you know? What was the business impact?
- Reflection - no project is perfect, what did you learn or would have done differently?
- Communication - how have you communicated the story of the project?
